Frequently asked questions

What is longevity and performance medicine?

Doctor-led, preventive care that aims to keep you healthy for longer and help you think and perform at your best now. It combines advanced testing, the latest research and lifestyle change, with modern medical treatments where appropriate.

Who is Dr Abhinav Vepa?

Dr Abhinav Vepa is a GMC-registered NHS GP in London with a special interest in performance, longevity, men's health and cardiometabolic health. He trained at King's College London, has 15 peer-reviewed publications including a Cochrane systematic review, and is a co-founder of Aeterna Health.

Are consultations online?

Yes. All consultations take place by video through Aeterna Health on the Helfy clinical platform, so you can be seen wherever you are in the UK.

What tests are included?

The Health Blueprint includes advanced blood biomarkers. The Deep Dive adds biological age, genetic, gut microbiome and environmental toxin testing, with optional VO2 max and body composition testing. Every result is explained in a 60-minute review.

Can Dr Vepa prescribe medication?

Yes, where it is clinically appropriate and in your best interest. Any prescription follows a full assessment, is in line with GMC prescribing guidance, and is only offered where it is safe and supported by evidence. Prescriptions are issued and monitored through the Helfy clinical platform, which is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Does this replace my NHS GP?

No. Private care with Dr Vepa works alongside your NHS GP, and with your consent relevant findings can be shared with them.

Is what I share kept confidential?

Yes. Everything you share is treated in strict confidence, in line with GMC guidance and UK data protection law. Your records are held securely on the Helfy clinical platform and are never shared with anyone, including your NHS GP or employer, without your consent, except in the rare situations where the law requires it.

Can I see Dr Vepa privately if I am his NHS patient?

No. To avoid any conflict of interest, Dr Vepa does not see patients privately who are registered at an NHS practice where he works.

Can Dr Vepa speak at my organisation?

Yes. He gives evidence-based talks and workshops on sleep, energy, focus, nutrition and long-term health, in person in London or online. Use the enquiry form on the Speaking page.
